Small plates, made for sharing
Hearth-baked loaf, cultured butter, smoked salt.
Hazelnut crumb, soft egg yolk, brown butter.
Pine-smoked, pickled cucumber, dill cream.
A small kitchen built around one open fire. We cook what the week brings in and serve it at a slow pace, in a room made for long evenings.
Every plate passes over the same hearth. Vegetables blister in the coals, fish rests on pine boughs and bread bakes in the fire's last heat after service.
The menu is short and changes often. When something runs out, we write a new dish rather than swap in a substitute.
Three kinds of evening under one roof. Pick the one that suits your night and mention it in your request.
Tables for two to six under the arched beams. Order à la carte and settle in.
Request a tableOne table for groups of eight to fourteen, with a shared menu set with you in advance.
Ask about groupsSix stools facing the hearth. The kitchen cooks a changing run of small courses and talks you through each one as it leaves the fire.
Book the counterSend a request and our team will reply by email to confirm your table. Walk-ins are welcome at the bar when space allows.
For groups larger than six, choose the long table so we can plan the menu with you.
Every field except notes is required.
If your question isn't here, add it to the notes on your table request.
Yes. Most dishes can be adapted and there is always a vegetable-led option from the fire. Please tell us when you book so the kitchen can prepare.
Children are welcome in the dining room at lunch and for early dinner. The chef's counter is best suited to guests aged twelve and up.
A few bar seats are kept for walk-ins each evening. Booking is the surest way to get a table, especially at weekends.
Choose "The long table" in your request. We'll reply to agree a date and a shared menu for your group.
None at all. Come as you are. The room is warm and relaxed.
